weekend wishes

happy thanksgiving weekend to all of my american readers! i hope you are all enjoying a lovely few days with family, friends and yummy food. oh, and let's not forget all the shopping sales to be had this weekend! i even took the day off yesterday and attempted....ahem...attempted being the operative word, to take advantage of a black friday sale but failed miserably getting my date wrong. can we say loooooossser! yep. silly momma. i'm still ill and i'm blaming it on this long lingering virus that is affecting my normally wide awake and alert brain...hahaha...yeah right! not. (is that word still cool to say - "not"? oh well, i'm saying it anyways..lol). needless to say i enjoyed a wee bit of rest this week and am keeping this week's weekend wishes short and sweet too.

i love the drawing above. maybe it's because it hits home for me and also because the artist is from my neck of the woods here in british columbia. we've got a thing for trees. i've also got a thing for greys, blacks and neutrals at the moment. could be all the rain we're having lately and the grey skies but i've got 2 upcoming knitting patterns due to come out and both are knit up in tones of grey. purdy greys. i can't wait to show you them!

i'm hoping to get working on some xmas decorations for our apartment and tree this year. i always make something new each year to add to our repertoire so i've slowly been pinning some new faves that just might end up being made. i'm trying to relish in this time before things get super duper busy around here. i've also got some xmas shopping to do. i'm about 3/4 of the way done - yay me, and hope to get my shopping done early this year so i can focus on other things in december and working towards my goal for this holiday - RELAXING. yep, that's right. our wee family has had a very long year and all we want for christmas is some down time to spend with each other. here's to making it happen.

what are you wishing for this xmas? are you doing any special shopping this weekend? what sales are you excited about? share the shopping luv ladies. i want to know about the deals to be had! are you crushing on a color at the moment? wishing you all a wonderful, turkey, shopping, coffee, napping and crafting filled weekend

weekend wishes

that you all have a wonderful, awesome & super duper fab weekend!

it's a short one this week.  i know....poor weekend wishes right?  i don't have any excuses except for the fact that i'm way behind in my sewing for fibrations next weekend and i want to spend some time with my little family today.  the hubs is home today so we're going to make the most of it, or at least attempt to.  they have been up to nothing but mischief, fighting, yelling and all sorts of behaviour today which is just yet another sign they need some quality time from the two of us.  so i'll be back next week.  in the meantime i'm wishing you all a sewing/knitting/crocheting/quilting...heck any kind of creative crafting kind of weekend topped with friends, laughs, sunshine & cuddles.

what are you up to this weekend? what are your weekend wishes?  any craft projects you have plans to work on?  share, share...weekend wishes isn't any fun if i'm the only one wishing :)

p.s. in case you're wondering fibrations is a fibre festival here in lovely victoria, bc situated in a gorgeous orchard!! it's fun and such a lovely setting!  i'll be selling my patterns and handmade goodies so if you are in town pop by my table and come say hi! i would LOVE to see you :)

i love fridays. it's one of my favorite days of the week.  it's not too often i wake up grumpy on a friday.  the possibilities of the weekend seem endless.  too bad my hubs is going to be in school all weekend which means lots of driving for this momma.  we hit up the library yesterday to prepare for our trips in the car.  lots of music cd's, kids audio books and other goodies to bring in the car.  and for mom....my knitting of course :)  it's going to be a long one but i still get to go out on sat night so all is good.

last week i managed to get some time to read and boy did it sure feel good to just lose myself in a good book.  i worked in bookstores for a big part of my pre-child life and am a huge book lover.  after spending so much time working behind the scenes in bookstores and getting to order titles, read advances, head up multiple book clubs, attend author readings etc it's always a pure joy to me to snuggle up with a good book and by book i mean a real book...you know...the one with a cover and pages in it..lol.  there's something so wonderful about the smell of a real book and i love my collection of classics on my shelf that i've found in little secondhand shops all over the place that i couldn't imagine them all being replaced by a file in an e-reader.  there is a real art in book binding. now don't get me wrong...i'm not saying e-readers are bad..not at all...i'm just sayin that for me it would be a hard leap to make.  i love independent bookstores so much and can't imagine the possibilities of them not existing.  it makes my heart break a little.  anyways...i digress...lol.  bottom line...i'm reading a juicy one and cannot wait to get to the end this weekend.

what are you all up to?  any fun plans?  what are you going to be busy crafting?  i'm working on my fat quarter gang tutorial that is coming up...can't wait to show you all!  pull up a seat...your cuppa jo is already poured for ya....let's chat!

weekend wishes

keeping it short & sweet today.  it's super sunny out today and i've got a frappucino by my side along with my little harper.  we're heading outside to soak up the rays.  i'm so excited for this weekend. i'm heading to vancouver tomorrow to hit up ikea to get my sewing area goodies! yee haw!!! and you can bet i'll be knitting my butt off to get my top done.  i'm soooo close!  then on sunday i've got sewing group.  can we say fun!!!!  in between all that i'm going to finish up my quilt and snuggle my little fam :)

wishing you all a sunshine filled, coffee sipping, sewing & knitting, big laughs, lazy beach kinda weekend!  have a super long weekend to those of you in the US as well.  i may take monday off here to work on some design work so i'll most likely see you all on tuesday!

what are your weekend plans?  any special weekend wishes for the long weekend?  any trips?  what are you crafting up this weekend? share, share, share....i wanna know :)

p.s. don't forget to enter our "petite kids pattern giveaway" and get your name in the entry form for our tops, tanks & tees kal if you particapted for our giveaway day!

it's friday chickas!!!!!  yahoo!  i love friday.  in fact i love friday even more today because i got my free drink coupon in the mail from starbucks yesterday! man i love being a gold card member.  it's free and i get free drinks and savings!  can't beat that.  although i did have to stand in a lineup out to the door (yes, seriously) to get my venti drink today.  and yes...i ordered a venti...mmmmm...come to mama...if it's free you can bet i'm ordering the biggest size! YUM!

so the hubs and i are chatting about getting one of those coffee machines that make single cups.  what we want to know is which one is your fave - keurig or tassimo?  they both seem to have good qualities and i'm curious from those of you who have one if you enjoy it.  we both need all the coffee we can get at the moment to survive till the fall :)

i'm also very nervous about my recent bathing suit purchase. i finally bit the bullet and ordered this suit from land's end in black. i really, really, really wanted the coral but they didn't have my size in stock.  i wasn't going to order a suit but then my mom so sweetly pointed out they have 30% off and free shipping right now so i went for it.  i'm scared it's not gonna fit and i'm' going to end up with my girls schlupping out and a nice ol'muffin top...lol.  cross your fingers for me....lol.  thank god i can return it if it doesn't fit...or at least i hope i can?  maybe i should have read that part...lol - ordering bathing suits online is nerve wracking dude!  if i don't like it i'm totally ordering a retro style one piece.  the only reason i didn't order one of those already is the hubs didn't seem to keen on the style.  we'll see what happens.....nervous!

we've had some nice weather around here lately and i've been dreaming of getting our deck done and sipping some nice adult bevvies out there cuddling with the hubs when the wee ones are asleep.  we've got all our plants planted and the bbq set up...now we're just putting some finishing touches here and there and doing some cleaning and then we'll hopefully be sitting out there sooner than later.  i think my knitting would be super fast if accompanied by my deck, sunshine and a stiff drink...muahahah.

wishing you all a warm, yummy bevvy, cuddles, sunshine, crafty, sleep filled kinda weekend!  what are your weekend plans?  do you find bathing suit shopping online scary too?  which coffeemaker do you prefer keurig or tassimo?  see you all monday peeps!

isn't that first image of that blanket awesome!!! I WANT!  ohhhhh, it's so hard to not let myself get swayed by new projects to make all the time.  i've got way too many on my plate as it is...such is the nature of the beast though :P  better to have too many than none at all.  that would really suck.

this was our first week with the hubs home on a somewhat normal schedule and boy has it felt good.  we have a lot to do and i mean a lot but we've started so i'm happy. slowly but surely we are chipping away at chores, spring cleaning, work, studies and reorganization.  it feels good.  i can't wait to make a dent in it.  we've been revamping our deck this spring and i'm working away on little things for it here and there and i can't wait to show you all when it's done.  it's been raining buckets here or i would have taken a pic to show some of my new fave things to you guys.  in fact i haven't really taken any pics this week at all due to our dark grey skies and torrential downpours. i'm not bothered by the rain the first day, in fact i enjoy snuggling up inside with my knitting, coffee & the kidlets but when it keeps going.....well....it can just end already.  i need my vitamin d sky...lol.

this weekend i will be working...working...working.  i've got some projects to finish up and a new knitting pattern i'm working on for you all plus a whole bunch of new fabric to get some commuter cowls & sweetheart dresses made to list in the shop.  i'm super excited.  i also have a new item that i will be selling in their that is my own design that i am freaking excited about. i cannot wait to reveal it but i seriously don't know when i am going to have time to do this all.  i better go take my supermommy vitamin and don my wondermomma cape, squeeze my big ol'jungas into a leotard and take on the day...lmao....anyone want to join me? i could use a sidekick...lol.

thankfully i have knit night tomorrow to calm my soul. what are your weekend plans and wishes? i hope you all have lots of sunshine, time to create, set your mind free & cuddle those nearest & dearest but most importantly laugh. i need a good laugh.  remember....as the movie annie says "you're never fully dressed without a smile". <3

simply color by v and co. for moda
finally, finally it's the weekend. i feel like i can breathe a little bit better.  i've got knit night tomorrow and sewing group all day sunday...yee haw!!!! i hope to be one happy momma come next week :)  i cannot wait to have multiple hours in a row of uninterrupted child free sewing time.  yessssss.....it's gonna be good. i picked up some batting on monday and i have a new friend for my sewing machine that i will reveal to you all soon and that i cannot wait to try it out.  hopefully i can get more than a big chunk done on mackenzie's zig zag quilt and finish up a few custom orders for the sweetheart dress.

i've also been having to do the dreaded deed of bathing suit shopping...oh my....lord help me.  it's scary...frightening..and needless to say i haven't found one yet and am terrified of trying on any more of them.  the one i currently own i really like but i now have the horrible see through butt happening...so not flattering.  must fix.  anybody recommend a fave place to shop for suits that is budget friendly, in style but has a bit more coverage for my lady bits so i can play at the pool without flashing the whole lot of em?  i really just wish bikini bottoms fit like my fave pair of undies too.  no tiny elastic going around my muffin top.  i really wanted a tankini this year to mix it up from always wearing a one piece. now don't get me wrong, i don't want one where my tummy is showing, just two pieces ya know.  i found one i like online but the price is hefty when you ship it with customs/duties etc. and i don't even know if it will fit. eeeekkk!  their size chart is saying i am 4-5 sizes bigger than i would normally wear.  hellooooo??????  what is wrong here people????

anyhoo...this is our home stretch for tax season. the last weekend before the deadline.  i cannot wait for it to be over.  i cannot wait to see my hubby again...ok...who am i fooling...he's not done school, but i may see him a tiny bit more than before so any amount is better than less right?

wishing you all a crafty filled, sunshine basking, coffee sipping, deep belly laughter, non bathing suit shopping, family cuddle filled weekend <3 what are you guys up to this weekend?  what are you working on?  any fun projects planned?  weekend wishes?  comment my friends...it makes my day!

p.s. don't forget to enter to win some fabulous organic fabric from birch fabrics and fabricworm!!! woot woot!

weekend wishes

that my baby girl has a wonderful 5th birthday!!!!

keeping it short and sweet today folks.  my weekend wish is to make my little girl as happy as can be this weekend.  it's her 5th bday today!!! cannot believe it!  i'm a crying fool!  she's truly my "angel baby".  not because she's so well behaved...though she is...most of the time..haha..but because i didn't think i would be able to have kids and voila  - there she is.  truly my little miracle angel baby.  i'm in shock she's 5!  seems like just yesterday i was wearing her in a sling.  she's so special and this birthday seems to be the most exciting one for her yet!  so i'm off to plan the rest of the weekend for my baby girl.  i'll be back next week with weekend wishes...i promise :)

in the meantime pop on over to whipstitch to check out their newest sewing course - "sewing for your home"! seriously...deborah's online sewing courses are rockin! check out the stuff you get to make and learn! wowsa!!!!!! the amount of projects you are making is so long i didn't even list it! you just have to go check it out! amazing!  she truly has one of the best online classes there is and they are designed for the confident beginner and are even great for an experienced sewer to brush up on their skills and learn some new techniques while making some fun home decor projects!

you can find all things whipstitch here:

wishing you all a wonderful, smiles, blue skies, sunshine, laughter, cupcake & coffee filled kinda weekend!  i've got a new tutorial for you all on monday hopefully so stay tuned!!!  have a great day!  what are your weekend wishes this week?  any special plans this weekend?  what projects are you working on? it's friday!!!! weeee!!!

a patchwork quilt by red pepper quilts
i really mean it about that quilt....i love it!!! in fact i dreamt about it after i saw it in the works a few days ago...i could not get it out of my mind.  so gorgeous.  this weekend i hope to get some batting to get my own quilt done.  it's been on the wall on hold because i thought i had enough to make the quilt but it turns out i tricked myself..lol.  so i have to pick up batting and thread this weekend to get going on mackenzie's quilt...especially if i want to give it to her for her bday this april.

i also plan on keeping on fighting this wannabe cold.  i refuse to let it stop me but it has slowed me down a tad.  so i'm going to curl up here and there and read a good book or catch up on some knitting time.  i've got my classic raglan to finish up, a sweater for mackenzie for her bday to do, and many other projects on the needles...aiayaya...i think i may have cast on more than i could chew..lol.  i've also got a date with my sewing machine sometime too. will probably be tonight so wish me luck sewing into the late night hours.  i always mess up at night so it scares me to sew at night now but we've got a full, busy day on saturday so this momma doesn't get any work time :(

and bring on the coffee....yep, the sun has peeked it's head out here and there and i feel ready to give a few of those fun coffee recipes that floated around last summer a go.  mmmm....i love iced coffee. sometimes i just throw ice in my cool coffee at lunch and sip at that.  yum.  i'll take coffee anyway i can get it.  funny thing is that when i was in my early 20's i really didn't like coffee and then bam...one day addicted.  that's how it goes with caffeine folks..lol.

so what projects are you guys working on?  what are you up to this weekend? anyone have a fave coffee recipe they tried & want to share?  let's chat! wishing you all a warm, sunny, happy, cozy, fun & yummy coffee filled weekend!

yee haw! it's friday!  tgif...i'm pooped.  i know, i just had a weekend away but talk about not getting back into a rhythm.  wowsa.  i am one tired momma.  i'm so tired i even had a dream that i met amy butler and she told me to make sure i still remember to sit back and enjoy life while i craft...lol.  a sign that i am too busy?  prolly...lol.

i plan on hanging out with my girls at knit night, working on a few new patterns and tutorials, getting things ready for our next kal announcement (next week people), drinking lots of yummy coffee and having a great time with the family.  in between all that i have to do a huge clean/organization of our condo and really don't know when i am going to find the time so there may be a few late nights here.  anyone know any free maids??? a girl can try right?  lol!

wishing you all a good pals, lots of laughs, crafty projects, coffee/tee & snuggle filled weekend.  what are you up to?  are you burning the candle at both ends too?  what projects do you hope to work on this weekend?  fill me in..it's friday <3

it's here!  the weekend i've been counting down for 2 months!  yeehaw!  almost 2 whole days sans kidlets!  i'm super happy but also nervous and sad.  it's the first time i've ever been away from both of my babies.  i've only ever been away from mackenzie when i gave birth to harper so that's a lot of nights and days that i've spent with them.  it's going to feel weird to be without them and the hubs.  i'll miss my little family and i'll prolly cry at least once but i'm also gonna have a friggin good time too!  woo hoo!!!

me and 4 other pals are hitting up fibres west in abbostford, bc tomorrow and then spending the night downtown vancouver in a pretty nice hotel!  so excited!  i miss my old stomping grounds of vancouver, it is where i met my hubby after all, and i cannot wait to drive over the bridge into downtown and just soak up the energy and the buzz of it all.  i miss living there a lot. don't get me wrong,i love living in victoria, they are just very different from each other and i being a gemini, love things from each place.  needless to say it will be awesome to go back even if for 24 hrs or less..lol.  i will be getting up in the morning at like 4:45am to make myself look presentable before we hit the early morning ferry..yes, that is how excited we are to get over the mainland...we will wake up at 5:00 in the morning even though the kids are still asleep!!!!  definitely a sign of momentary insanity!

so my weekend plans are to go to bed very early tonight, cuddle my babies and hubs as much as i can and then whoop it up with the girls & shop for yarn!!!! hopefully i won't be too exhausted come monday...lol..and won't forget to take pics for all you ladies to see.  bring on the sweet georgia yarns people!!!

what are you all up to?  what are your weekend wishes?  fill me in!  i'm wishing you all a fun, belly laughs, cuddles & coffee filled weekend topped with lots of momma time for crafting and relaxing!  see ya on monday!

and to not mess up my knitting at pub knit night tomorrow...

image src: made by koning
tgif! yipeee!  it's been a long week.  a fun one but a long one.  we've got a busy weekend coming our way.  it's my fave time of the month!  i've got knit night on saturday and it's our pub knit night. that's right...we go to a pub and knit.  cool - i know :P  i just hope i don't get so tipsy i wreck my knitting..muahaha..i'm a little scared.  i'm not a big drinker and since i've just finished weaning a few days ago i really haven't had anything to drink in like 2 years.  the one time i did i had half a glass of wine and was drunk...lol..yes, drunk.  it was humiliating and embarrassing to say the least.  thankfully i was just at home with the hubs so nobody else witnessed it.  so knit night i have a 1 drink limit :)

i also don't want to be hungover for sunday.  it's our modern sewing group meetup on sunday and i've got some serious plans to make a good sized dent in my zig zag quilt.  i'm hoping to square up my hst's before going so that all i have to do when i am there is sew up the quilt front.  fun, fun, fun! i cannot wait! it's been so busy around here my poor quilt is still pinned to the wall waiting for me to show it some luv.  it tortures me that i haven't had a chance to get to it yet.  my ironing board monster is also growling my way a lot lately.  it seems like no matter how much i clean it up and get my projects in order it crawls back out and snarls at me with it's ugly teeth laughing. damn you ironing board monster..go bug someone else..lol.  oh, and yes, i talk to inanimate objects..lmao.  especially ones who take over my sewing wall and make it impossible for me to sew anything.

in between all the crafty goodness this weekend i'll be coloring with my girls, playing some video games with the hubs and working on my newest pattern.  i also hope to squeeze a movie or two in there with the hubs.  i need some cuddle time :)

what are you ladies up to?  any crafty plans this weekend?  are you being bombarded by a rain storm today too?  share, share...i love hearing what you are all up to!  wishing you a stylish, laughter filled, coffee indulging, cozy, kinda weekend!

P.s. - i was super excited to find out i was nominated for the circle of moms "top 25 creative mom blogs" contest! so awesome! if you could be so kind as to go and vote for lil'ol me that would be so sweet!  you can see all the nominees here and vote for me here :) thanks everyone!

ahhhh...the weekend.  tgif.  i'm happy it's friday and the sun is shining, the baby is laying on my lap and i've got a starbucks to my right and all of you to chat with.  it's been a looooong week.  both my babies got some nasty little stomach bug and our poor little condo was filled with fevers and lots of puke.  sorry for the tmi but it was projectile and i'm still traumatized by it..lol.  i learned more than i've ever wanted to know about cleaning up vomit. yuck.  moving on.

i made it through though and both are feeling better each day.  i never fully got it but definitely was rundown and fighting something.  i kept my spirits up by knitting and watching almost the full first season of downton abbey.  can we say addicted?! omg!!!! LOVE!  honestly, i'm kicking myself for not jumping on the bandwagon a hellavu long time ago.  this show rocks and is so inspiring.  all i want to do is sew, sketch and knit while i watch it.  are you hooked?

i've also been busy on the sidelines working on finishing up 2 new tutorials/patterns for you guys too!  so much fun!  i can't wait to show you all.  my plans this weekend are to work on a special upcoming project for this month (weee!), get my kiddos feeling better, kick my hubbies butt at mario bros., knit with my gals and get some rest.  what are your plans?

wishing you all a healthy, happy, sunshine, family, coffee & laughter filled weekend topped up with some awesome downton abbey :P  see you all monday!

yippee..it's the weekend folks!  i'm so happy this week is almost over. it's been a rough one over here.  from losing a loved one (jer's grandma passed away),  nasty stomach bugs, to being stuck inside for days due to snow and to living in a condo that is in a half organized state i'm ready to break out...lol.  i need me some starbucks and my hubby.  speaking of the hubs..it's his bday today....my young stud is almost in the same decade as me now..lol.  yes, that's right, i'm older than him.  6 years older in fact.  that's how we roll ladies.  i like me a younger man...you should try it sometime, i definitely recommend it :P today i tried to convince him to wear a sweater over a dress shirt to keep warm and caught myself saying "ryan gosling would do it"...omg...i have seen way too many yummy ryan gosling tumblr pics and movies lately..iayaya.

i'm also planning on getting my hands on some downton abbey now that you have all convinced me in the facebook group.  of course netflix canada doesn't have it...so i will have to be a bit more imaginative.  i'm also hoping this damn snow melts so i can get to knit night cause i've got way too many projects on the needles.  i also got all my pretty half square triangles sewed up and fixed the wonky one (thanks for your tips) and am dying to start getting my zigs and zags together.  this quilt is way too much fun :)  plus i've got 2 new tutorials in the works and a pattern review coming up this month so stay tuned for some sewing fun too!

what are your plans this weekend?  are you a downton abbey addict?  are you quilting, sewing or knitting?  anyone else dreading more snow?  fill me in my friends...you know i love hearing what you are all up to.  happy snow free, great tv, hubby snuggles and coffee sipping craft filled weekends.  xoxoxo.

they are predicting snow here this weekend...ohhhhhh.....i'm excited, nervous and dreading it all at the same time.  don't get me wrong, i don't hate snow.  there is a time and place for snow for me.  i mostly just dislike snow.  i dislike grey, freezing, dreary, gloomy, icy, slushy and miserable snow that shuts the whole city down so i'm stuck inside for days on end but i adore fluffy, beautiful, blue sky, snowmen and snowball fights with hot chocolate kind of snow.  rarely do i get to experience the latter.

i grew up in a small town in northern british columbia where a good junk of our year was spent buried in snow.  burying your house out, your car out and yourself out of sidewalks and more.  sometimes you would get so much snow the windows would be covered.  as a child it was awesome...as a teenager and an adult i dreaded it and really just longed for sunshine and blue skies.  i don't ski (too clumsy) and am just not an outside snow kinda gal.  i'm the one who'd rather be at the lodge in front of the fire, sipping a hot toddy, knitting  whilst watching everyone else freeze.  but hey...to each their own right?

i do hope it snows...just a tad...for the kids.  they are super excited about it and mackenzie is def not her momma when it comes to snow.  she wants to ski and is very athletic.  i like to watch from our condo window as they frolic with the hubs in our parking lot making snow angels..yes, parking lot...we have no yard and when you live in a city in a condo that's what you get when it snows...lol.  i love the idea that i can go down and play for a few mins and then be the mommy who has marshmallows, warm blankets and hugs waiting upstairs to hear all their stories and to see the red cheeks and happiness in their eyes.  on the rare occasion though...i do make a mean snowball and will never, ever turn down sledding!  i love me a steep hill and a flying saucer!

due to the way our city handles snow i'm expecting the roads to close down and the sidewalks to be uncleared and us not being able to drive.  i'm so hoping it doesn't get this bad or the snow at least waits till sunday so i can go to knit night...lol and so my wee one can go to her soccer game...brrrrrr.....just thinking about all this snow has me wrapping a blanket around me and pulling my knitting out.  stay tuned next week...the adult mallory pattern is here and i LOVE it! can't wait for you to see it!

are any of you a gemini like me? do you only love half of snow...muahaha?  oh man..sometimes it's so hard to be a gemini...i can never make up my mind <3.  what are you all up to this weekend? whatcha working on?  whatcha making? whatcha baking?  whatcha planning?  come chat...let's use the heck out of the new commenting system.  looking forward to hearing from you lovely ladies and i'm wishing you all a warm, lovely, happy, hot chocolate or skinny mocha, cuddle filled weekend! xoxoxo

.

i'm so looking forward to this weekend.  last weekend the hubs was gone so no rest happened for this momma. i'm taking full advantage of having a few hours to myself tomorrow morning.  peaceful bliss.  i'm going to sit my butt down and not move. i want to just sit and lap up the quiet & the sunshine, filling my soul with a sense of calm.  enough to last me another 8 days till the next dose.

we've been getting by here but it's been rough...i won't lie.  you guys know i won't candy coat things here.  it's pretty hard to take care of 2 little ones when you can't move too much...or bend...or lift...or twist...lol.  but i'm trying to stay strong and remember that this too shall pass.  there's a reason for every hardship and i hope that soon that will be made clear to our little family.  we're looking forward to having daddy home for a few restful days this month for the holidays where we don't have to worry too much about chores, deadlines, work, homework, stress, and well...life.  we want to snuggle, laugh, bask by the fire, sip hot cocoa, eat cookies, stay in our jammies all day and just enjoy each other's company.  it's been a long time and i think this year instead of counting down the days till santa comes i'm counting down the days until we can be a "family".

time seems to go by too fast lately and even though in a way i wish it would speed up so my back would be better i also wish it would just snail along.  i want to enjoy this last month.  the morning frost glittering from the morning sunlight, the sip of hazelnut coffee, the kiss of a toddler and hug of a child, the laughter of my best friend, the feel of my knitting needles and the stitches of my quilt, the beauty in simplicity, the blessings we have in our life and the belief  that through all of this, life has a way of working itself out.  i remind myself of this daily right now.  everything will be ok....it will be ok.  i will be ok.

wishing you a blessing filled weekend.  one filled with pieces of bliss and happiness, of warm snuggles, hot drinks, the joy in handmade, the comfort of good friends and the love of your family.  thank you all for your kind words and emails the last few months as i've been "under the weather".  i luv you guys.  so.....where will you be finding the beauty in simplicity this weekend?

we've got a jam packed weekend coming up.  i'm a little scared actually.  not too sure when i'm gonna find some down time, but hey, it's filled with fun stuff so i can't complain.  we're heading out to pick our pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch this weekend and my fave part is deciding what the hubs is going to carve in our pumpkins.  each of us get's our own and i always try to make sure they represent our personalities.  needless to say mine is always goofy and never scary :P

i'm heading to a baby shower this weekend too and cannot wait to gift some handmade love that i've been working on the last few weeks.  i'll make sure to get some pics to show off the final products for you all next week :)  i'm also working on a few other newborn goodies for a friend of mine who recently had a baby girl.  i'm seriously addicted to making baby things right now.  i just can't seem to stop..haha.

and you know i'll be super busy whipping up my cowl for the "carefree cowl knit along"!  i can't wait for knit night so i can wind my skein and get knitting and, of course, be sitting with my ladies, sipping coffee kidlet free from 7-11:30...every weekend it's bliss :)  mama therapy...

i'm wishing you all warm, cozy, goofy, pumpkiny, laughter & love filled weekend.  hope you all get some crafty time too :)  what were you working on this week?  have you been sewing/knitting/crocheting?  what are your weekend wishes....come chat with me...purdy please?

and to get to see my hubby for longer than 2 hours a day.

tgif. i'm excited for the weekend folks. that blogger crash really did a number on me. i lost a lot of work, almost lost my entire tutorial for the MODify dress and i am still missing posts and your wonderful comments. saying i was a wee bit stressed was an understatement. so i'm super excited that we get a three day long weekend here in canada and i'm super excited to have 3 whole days with the hubby!!! it's like an early xmas pressie! we've got plans but we don't. you know those weekends when you don't want to schedule anything but you wanna have fun? that's our weekend.

i've got a busted bed, a busted coffee maker among other things and errands must be run. harper needs a new carseat (any recommendations?) and our condo is in desperate need of reorganization. tax season did a number on us and we need to purge, purge, purge. i'm hoping that in between the purging, researching and shopping that we'll have time to play, laugh, cuddle, drink some good coffee, work on my knitting and finish up two new sewing projects i've got on the go.

the sun is shining and the baby is smiling at me with that "come over and play with me mommy eyes" when she should be napping so i'm keeping this one short folks. wishing you all a sunshine and good times filled weekend. get oustside, craft, snuggle and do all things yummy! see ya next week :)

what are your weekend wishes? what did you whip up this week? any new projects you want to share?

to sit here with my knitting and a good book....

to have some time to daydream.

well it's friday folks. am i excited this week is over? yes. am i looking forward to the weekend? not so much. the hubs has still been pretty sick around here, both girls are still not 100% and neither am i. hubs has to go put in some overtime this weekend which means i'm solo with my two babes. that equals no rest or relaxation in this momma's agenda.

i am going to try to fit in some cuddles though and maybe a few more splurges at starbucks for those naughty half price tea lattes (till the 20th)...i can't resist the prize for my fave chai tea latte...yum! i'm also going to try one of those chocolate chip cookie recipes you all so fabulously shared with me on our facebook page.. even more yum! i need me some chocolate this week...a girl's gotta splurge every once and a while right? especially since i'm judging the last week of project run & play - eeek! i have no idea how the heck i'm gonna do this. come help me out and vote k?

while everyone else is sleeping i'll be working on my guest post for celebrate the boy....yep, it's started! go check out all the good stuff on dana and rae's blogs. i'm also working on a guest post for katy of no big dill for her "once upon a thread" theme - an entire month of sewing inspired by children's books. i'm honored to be in such fabulous company and to be part of this fun theme on her equally as fab blog. go check it out!

remember that tute i told you all about that i was madly working on the other week? while it's done too but you have to wait till mid march to see it! i'll be posting on one of my fave crafty blogs and can't wait to share it and the news with all of ya next month!

so there ya have it...cookies (in my tummy), cuddles (with my 3 fave people), chai tea latte (to warm me up) and computer time (to hang with all of you)....hmmmm, maybe a not so bad weekend after all :)

what are you all up to? anything fun planned? have you been joining in on the chats on our facebook page? come "like" me...pretty please?

to drink lots of yummy coffee...

and to get us all crocheting pop tabs!!!

so happy it's friday today! it's felt like a long week. phew! i'm in the mood this weekend for some fun! i feel the need to get out and run & play. must be from being cooped up all week last week with a sick kiddo. i'm planning on doing a bit of thrifting this weekend with a friend, a walk on the beach accompanied by my two girls and the hubs, a date with my sewing machine to have a serious chat about it's naughty behaviour and some rest & relaxation - ha, wait who am i kidding, rest and relaxation? what's that??? maybe i'll settle for a wee bit of rest. yeah..i'll take that.

i would like to get harper's hat that i've been knitting since xmas done and also cross off finding fabric for my quilt back and chair cushion as well. it's driving me nuts that i still haven't found "the" fabrics. i keep looking and liking but just not loving. does this ever happen to you? i want so badly to finish the quilt but don't want to just settle on the backing. hopefully something will find it's way to me soon. what fabrics are you coveting at the moment? have you seen the new sneak peek for "1001 peeps" from lizzy house? i'm excited for this line!

wishing you lots of rest, fun, coffee and crafty goodness this weekend! what are your plans? are you going thrifting? fabric shopping? let's chat :)

ps. don't forget to get your entry in for the sweet pea shoe patterns/shoeology giveaway!!! making shoes is fun!!!
