moms in the mommyhood

if you are new to the mommyhood, our "moms in the mommyhood" posts feature a new mom who currently has their own business (doesn't matter what kind). we try to sit down and have a virtual cup of coffee and ask them all the fun, little questions that we are dying to know. we also try to get a glimpse into their lives and what it's like to have your own business and be the boss of your kids at the same time. we are always on the lookout for new moms to feature. if you know someone or you would like to be featured in this spot, please send us an email at luvinthemommyhood@yahoo.ca. don't be shy - we can't wait to meet you!

remake, repurpose, refashion - a list of tutorials

You've heard of the 3 Rs of environmentalism, reduce, reuse and recycle. Well, luvinthemommyhood's bringing you the new 3 Rs: Remake, Repurpose, Refashion.

Some crafts make use of craft supplies most households have lying around, but we are going to present you with crafts that use things you have lying around but have not thought of for creating new items from. Get ready to raid the donation pile before taking it to the thrift store (or even your husband's closet while he is at work - but don't tell him we put you up to it) and start showing some creativity.

newbie sewing series - list of tutorials

for those of you new to the "newbie sewing series" we provide a tutorial geared towards anyone who sews, but mostly for those who are learning, like me. you get a pdf download of the tutorial and also a handmade video of lil'ol me making them. there may not always be the correct terminology, or the best process, but that's what it's all about when you are learning to sew, it's not always perfect, but it's sure fun.

- you can KNIT OR CROCHET ANY PATTERN OF YOUR LIKING that fits under the category of a sweater, pullover or cardigan.  this can be either for an adult or a child.  your project must have at least elbow length sleeves.  any weight of yarn can be used.

- you don't need to finish your project (though we love it if you do) to be eligible for the giveaway but you do need to start.  we really want to encourage people to knit together and form a sense of community and online friendships.
- there will be a topic thread in our ravelry group that you can chat away about your projects, share patterns, cheer each other on and more.  have fun with it!  i can't wait to start!
