tilty - the ultimate sippy cup

being a parent has involved more research on sippy cups than i ever could have imagined. new information keeps coming month after month. bpa free, no valve, plastic or stainless steel, the options are endless.

safety of the cup and keeping the cup clean our my first priorities, followed by functionality and price. while on a hunt for new sippies i recently came across the tilty. this is the first cup i have seen that is not stainless steel that is BPA free, PVC free, dye free, has no valve and is pthalate free. bonus on top of all that is the price is actually affordable - $6/two. can't go wrong with that. you can find tilty cups here.

    one week - canadian style

johsua jackson's new movie, one week, gives us a reminder of how breathtakingly stunning canada's landscape is and how darn lucky we are to live here. especially close to home for me and my hubby were the scenes beach side in tofino, where we were married last year.

i don't know if everyone will understand the humour of this film if they aren't a canadian resident, but regardless, the movie was touching and reminds us all to take time to enjoy life while we can and to truly live it, all with a tim horton's in hand. so roll up the rim to win (sorry, couldn't help myself) and head to your local theatre. also, if you are from the island, you will get a kick out of the shots of the duncan hockey stick! yep, it's live and on full screen!

p.s. the soundtrack kicks butt. sam roberts, stars, joel plaskett, wintersleep, emm gryner, great lake swimmers, lights, and luke doucet to name a few. hmmmm, what's not to like?

    wishbone bikes

i want one of these. is it bad that a full grown adult, a mother nonetheless, to want one of these for herself? the wishbone, the ultimate pre-bike, 3-bikes-in-1. Here's the deets from their site:

Unlike any other running bike, the Wishbone bike evolves with a child’s different stages of development.

It starts at age 1 as a trike, converts to a running bike as the child grows, and by four to five years old, the 'wishbone' frame is flipped, making the Wishbone Bike one of the largest running bikes on the market.

With its environmentally sustainable design, and innovative 3-bikes-in-1 feature, the Wishbone bike designed in New Zealand really is the ultimate pre-bike.

Every Wishbone Bike has 60% post-consumer recycled plastic wheels, is made from sustainably managed woods and is bonded and finished with eco-friendly products. The Bike box and all printed material inside is recycled and printed with non-toxic inks.

At Wishbone Design Studio, environmental objectives are integral to decision-making. We're committed to measurably improving our environmental performance year by year.

the best part is they have canadian retailers. find the list here or also at the new store called eio! open now, brought to us from the same folks who started one of my fave stores - beautymark, on commercial drive in my old stomping grounds of vancouver.
