💕My heart! You guys, my baby girl is 11 today. Eleven years ago she made my biggest wish come true. She’s brought me more joy than I can say. Shes my first born and she constantly blows my mind with how smart, talented and witty she is and I love her to the moon and back. Being blessed to be her momma is the most precious gift and I cherish every moment I get with her. She loves dance, fashion, writing, art & math/science and she makes me laugh. I love that we love lots of the same things and I’m excited for these adventurous tween (& teen) years ahead. Yes - even the tween and teen years...lol. 😋

💕I haven’t chatted much about this for a very long time (if you’re a long time blog reader you’ll know) but I’ve suffered for most of my life with severe endometriosis. I wasn’t supposed to be able to have my angel babies. But here I am 11 years later with two kids, only one ovary/Fallopian tube, and many surgery and tough complications along the way. I almost lost both my babies. I fought so hard. It’s been a crazy journey and I’ll never forget those years of longing and thank my lucky stars each day that I have my baby girls. If you’re suffering from endometriosis - my heart is with you. Stay strong. There is always hope and can be light at the end of the tunnel. ✨

💕I’ve got two WIP’s on the needles but today I thought I’d share my girl ☺️. She’s wearing the cowl she requested for Xmas. Knit on huge needles it’s just simple garter stitch knit flat and then twisted and seamed. She loves grey like her momma. Yarn is @weareknitters The Wool.

🌸 This yarn....this project....it holds a huge piece of my heart. 2 years ago today I lost one of the most important women in my life - my Nana. The last few hours I spent with her were filled with emotions and heartbreak but they also held a certain calm as my Nana asked me to knit because it relaxed her and she liked to watch me (she was an avid and amazing seamstress). Confession - since that day I cannot bring myself to finish this project. Each time I hold this yarn I’m overcome with emotions and memories (both happy and sad) and I sit and hold it and then I lovingly tuck it back away. I wanted to share this today because I thought it would be both therapeutic to write about it but to also speak on how powerful our craft is. How this yarn can be so powerful and hold so much love in it. One day I may feel strong enough to finish it but for now I will keep holding it close and remembering the brave, beautiful, generous and wonderful woman my dear Nana was. I grew up with her living a few doors away my whole life and feel so blessed to have had that kind of upbringing.

🌸Today has been filled with so many emotions - she was an avid and talented gardener and she loved begonias. A few days before her passing she phoned me asking me to bring her some begonias. Now - every year on this day I hunt down begonias (which wasn’t easy this year...I admit to crying this morning) and plant them with my family in my garden in honour of her. The sun came out today and I know she’s smiling down at me as I hold my yarn...missing her. 🌸✨☀️

🌤Decisions...decisions...decisions...🤔. I’ve been dreaming and scheming since Uniform: Knit & Sew by @grainlinestudio and @maddermade arrived yesterday 😁! I’m thinking this pretty blue linen blend for the tunic (w/pockets...yessss!!!) and either one of my fave tones of mustard or a pretty grey for the cardi (version undecided). Help? What do you think?
