tilty - the ultimate sippy cup

being a parent has involved more research on sippy cups than i ever could have imagined. new information keeps coming month after month. bpa free, no valve, plastic or stainless steel, the options are endless.

safety of the cup and keeping the cup clean our my first priorities, followed by functionality and price. while on a hunt for new sippies i recently came across the tilty. this is the first cup i have seen that is not stainless steel that is BPA free, PVC free, dye free, has no valve and is pthalate free. bonus on top of all that is the price is actually affordable - $6/two. can't go wrong with that. you can find tilty cups here.

can we go to the park mommy?

this is the look i got when asked if we could go to the park. i, of course, replied "sure", only bad part was that as soon as we literally stepped out the door it started to rain. how do you explain that one to a soon to be 2 year old? bah.

the bright side project

miss b is the best. i posted last week about the bright side project and today, the lovely miss b did a post thanking those of us who have written about the project and we got a shout out! thanks for bringing some sunshine to our day miss b.

if you haven't already gone to check out the bright side project - do. the bright side project features different designers each day, offering everyone a chance to win that piece of goodness. all you have to do is answer one question, asked by the designer themselves, in the comments section. simple as that and you may have some sunshine added to your day along with a wonderful, independently designed piece of loveliness.

little coffee bean pattern

spring is coming and what better to start knitting than a short sleeved sweater for your wee one? i like the colour combination in the little coffee bean pattern shown above and below. it would look great with a long sleeved shirt underneath and a cute pair of jeans on your little one. this adorable short sleeved sweater pattern can be found for free over at the brown stitch or here on ravelry.

trina cardigan

i LOVE this. i WANT to make this. i DON'T know when i am going to have the time. please, someone knit this and send me pics so i can see your gorgeous cardi's.

the trina pattern can be found here on the yarniad or on ravelry. i am worried my girls (ahem, boobs) would make this look horribly unflattering on me, but i really don't care. i think it's the perfect spring cardigan. a must knit for the season. what do you guys think?

knit on the net - spring patterns up

i love the styling in the newest issue of knit on the net. the patterns are all free and have just a little bit of retro uniqueness to spice up the most boring of patterns. i got a kick out of the patterns designed by "just call me ruby" and found myself over on her blog that is filled with wonderful free patterns. here's the link if you're looking for something to spark your needles this week.

justwatchthesky for some music

this site is fun. i have a sincere adoration of lyrics and words. i won't get into a long explanation of how i get fascinated and stuck on one word or a phrase for weeks on end, but will just lead you over to justwatchthesky. simply explained - a song per post, with a lyric per post.

sisters are the best

mackenzie made her play ring around the rosie more times than i can count - thank god for aunties

i thankfully live in the same city as my baby sister. she saves me on a regular basis. i have tried luring her to my home more days than i can count with promises of a salary bigger than her current job will pay her, just to save me. she always declines, but she does come save me. once a week.

i truly look forward to my thursday afternoon visits from her. her company is great, we get along well and mackenzie adores her, but to me it means a shower, a chance to do chores - like today i cleaned 2 bathrooms, getting dinner prepped without a bored toddler pulling down my pants yelling "mommy, mommy", and oh, did i mention a shower? i actually get time to comb my hair and clean myself - yes, sisters are a wonderful thing.

this is what i found in mackenzie's jogging stroller as cami was leaving. that darn elmo....

how to sew a fabric headband

i have a few of these headbands and they always break. i am excited to find a how to so i can whip up one of my own now in the fabric i want and also for mackenzie. you can find the step by step at between the lines where the lucky pascale is living and creating in paris, france. ahhhh, paris. i wish i was wearing this headband sipping a delicious espresso on the streets of paris, with the sun shining and the birds chirping right at this moment. oh, pascale, can i come live with you?

how to make a kitchen cupboard message center

being a mother i am constantly striving to stay organized and tidy. i find it helps us stay sane on a regular basis and we have a happier existence when we aren't living in chaos because let's face it, being a parent is chaos enough.

i saw this post over at apartment therapy for the how to on making a kitchen cupboard message center. i have alot of appreciation for those who come up with great ideas for people to hide their organization tools. i would never have known this was lurking behind those cheerful yellow cabinets. whowouladthunkit?

any of you have some great secret organization tips? share them with the mommyhood and send an email my way.

pacing the panic room

there should be more blogs like this out there in the blogosphere. pacing the panic room is full of stunning photography, of his even more stunning pregnant wife and musings of a soon to be second time dad following along the weeks of her pregnancy. it's funny and so refreshing to hear a man's musings on pregnancy. i wish i had looked only a quarter as good as she does while preggers, but nope, i was a whale and a half with boobs the size of giant watermelons. that's how it goes - damn dna.
